Meteorologists & Oceanographers

5th – 9th April 2020

After wheeling, dealing, hunting & pecking, I've decided on the Best Western Plus hotel (all suites), right next to The Mighty Eighth Museum.155 Bourn Ave, Pooler, GA.(  It's right at exit 102 on Rt 95/Rt 80 intersection.  I held a reunion there several years ago and the suites are large and very comfortable.  The hotel was refurbed about 5 years ago and offers free parking (unlike downtown units that charge up to $25 for parking), free breakfast, and an airport shuttle.  It's about 5 miles to the airport and 7 miles downtown.  The trolley will pick us up and carry us back for tour of Savannah. There is plenty of good shopping, restaurants, cinemas etc., within a 2-mile radius.

The main differences between this hotel and downtown Marriott/Hampton Inn types - Breakfast is sometimes not up to par and the price.... Best price downtown $151.00 per night.

Our guys - $108.00 tags tax & title.!!

The museum has a nice little restaurant and I hope they can cater our banquet in the hotel.

After much consideration, I did not want to extend the reunion into October because six months later we're looking at another one.

Hopefully, most of you will approve of the choice made.  Let me know asap. Again, April 05-09 2020.  Arrive Sunday- Depart Thursday..Wx should be very good.

Many thanks for your consideration.

2021 Reunion #47 Questionnaire

At Reunion #45 incoming President Jim Romano, after getting approval of Savannah, GA for next year’s reunion, suggested a 4-day cruise for Reunion #47 in 2021. The cruise would be to Atlantis the Bahamas, out of Port Canaveral, FL or Charleston, SC. Both easy in, easy out ports. Baltimore has good cruises to the Bahamas also.

The cost ($500-700) would be roughly what reunion attendees have been paying for lodging with the added benefit of free meals and entertainment being included.  Late Spring or early Fall 2021 was suggested as the time frame for the cruise reunion.

President Jim would like to get input on this from the membership. How do you feel about it?  Let him know by clicking the Cruise Survey link below and completing the form:
