REUNION #46, SAVANNAH GEORGIA

26th – 30th April 2020

Reunion Now Scheduled for
26 to 30 April 2021
Updated Info Soon

Dear Shipmates,

After consulting with your Executive Board and considering the National Health Emergency, the Board and I have made the very disappointing decision to postpone our visit to Savannah  and the Mighty Eighth Museum until the Spring of 2021.

With  most states, including Georgia, curtailing most social events,
we were left with little choice but to consider the health of our group
because of the Corona Virus.

All the work involved with setting up our reunion will not be wasted.
We will keep our contacts, plans and venues on file for use next year.

It looks like we're going to have to be very careful to avoid this awful virus. Washing your hands many times and very carefully, has become a way of life for now. I pray that none of us or our families has to deal with this medically..

Over the next week I'll be sending out refund checks. Please be patient.
You had to send in one..I've got send out  27...Just kidding.  Rosalie will help.

Just as soon as this bloody virus is curtailed, we can plan another #46.

I know we are all very disappointed about this but just remember..

KEEP CALM..."WAIT 'TILL NEXT YEAR."

Sincerely,

Jim Romano
President, NWSA

Plans are well underway for our #46 reunion. The highlight of the week will be a tour of the National Museum of The Mighty Eighth Air Force (http://www.mightyeighth.org/).  I urge you all to read Masters of the Air by Donald Miller.  You will really appreciate The Mighty Eighth if you do.

Along with the Mighty Eighth tour, we’ll tour lovely, historic Savannah by trolley, have lunch at Paula Dean’s and have plenty of free time to enjoy the area. We’ll arrange nine holes of golf at a nice local course.  Banquet will be held at our hotel or nearby Sam Sneads which has excellent food.

So, we’re off and running.  Weather should be decent.  All we need is the crowd!

Reunion #46 promises to be a Southeast Coast reunion to remember, but to make it happen we need sponsors.  Each Chapter can help by buying an ad in the Reunion Pamphlet.  We are encouraging full-page ads, which are $50. Please send your advertisement and payment to:

2021 Reunion #47 Questionnaire

At Reunion #45 incoming President Jim Romano, after getting approval of Savannah, GA for next year’s reunion, suggested a 4-day cruise for Reunion #47 in 2021. The cruise would be to Atlantis the Bahamas, out of Port Canaveral, FL or Charleston, SC. Both easy in, easy out ports. Baltimore has good cruises to the Bahamas also.

The cost ($500-700) would be roughly what reunion attendees have been paying for lodging with the added benefit of free meals and entertainment being included.  Late Spring or early Fall 2021 was suggested as the time frame for the cruise reunion.

President Jim would like to get input on this from the membership. How do you feel about it?  Let him know by clicking the Cruise Survey link below and completing the form:
